Our brothers and sisters in Christ are hurting and struggling in their everyday lives. They feel discouraged and tired. They’re in the midst of a storm and don’t know what to do.
We are all human, and it is a fact of life. However, many people don’t know how to handle their circumstances or whom to talk with. They suddenly find their lives filled with stress, anxiety, conflict, and misery. They have issues communicating with their spouse, children, and co-workers. And they aren’t sleeping well, eating well, or exercising to be fit.
Each one of us faces personal battles or challenges at different times in our lives… no matter how Christian we are, no matter how closely we follow biblical teachings, we are going to have struggles. I certainly have.

Why Nathan’s Perspective Is Relevant Today
Some Christians deliberately choose to ignore God’s calling on their life. They’re creating “storms” in their lives and in the lives of others. Now, they’re stuck and aren’t sure what to do next. They spend time and energy addressing “problems,” which are really just symptoms caused by not being right with God.
Some Christian’s walk with God but don’t know how to talk with the Modern-Day Jonah. The standard answer of “get in God’s word and pray more” doesn’t address the issue at hand. When the pressures of life bear down, it can leave people wondering, “Where is God?”
Nathan lets his audience know that they aren’t alone. Their situation may be unique, but the real-life results are the same. The way back to God is through modeling Christ by listening, guiding, loving, giving hope, and providing sound, biblical advice.
